It's a right pain in the.... Elbow, and it's riding that started it off. Really tough to shake off as well. Can't do much without using my elbow.

Got it at the moment - too much Jetskiing this summer. Hurts like hell - I've had the injection and now have a strap with pressure points. Been over a month now and only just starting to get better. Total rest seems to be the only real cure but virtually impossible to do.

Good luck and I feel your pain :(

I got accupuncture through work which did the trick, and no riding for about a month. I'd been suffering for about8 months, so I thought if a months rest is going to do the trick it'll be worth it.

Yes I often get it - but not from tennis. Worse case I had was after I did a loads of angle grinding and fabrication work on the Buell. That buggered my elbow for several months afterwards, and I had to quit playing badminton for a while. I had to get take some anti inflammatory drugs on prescription in the end. I think it's all part of getting old :(

I had something similar, which was originally diagnosed as tennis elbow but the last physio I saw suggested that it was actually radioulnar hypotension, not much really helped (anti-inflammatorys do but screw your guts up) it went away on its own after about a year.

had it once, bike riding agrievated it, however a change in bikes and different handle bars sorted it out very quickly

Been there done that...

I think its like GT says "its part of getting old"...:(

But its arthritis that really gets to mess up your riding...:banghead:

been there to - as luck would have it I have BUPA with work

went to see a specialist who gave me one cortisone injection and also glyceryl trinitrate patches - which were a bit of a gamble but worked

some stuff online about them

They did give me cracking migraine to start with but they cured and its not been back since (about 5 years)

I had it about 30 years ago. It lasted about 4 months and one morning it was gone. Never reccured.

have had this in both elbows over the years - you do need to take it seriously or it could become chronic. My left elbow finally improved to bearable after around 2 years but there is always a niggle there now together with a little bump reminiscent of a Popeye cartoon. I was offered surgery but glad I decided against after reading up on other's experiences.

I’ve had tennis elbow from most bikes but the worst was my old Kawasaki GPZ600 I was in pain every time I did more than 30 miles.

However; I have found a cure so what you do is put your arm out at about chest height and turn your wrist and arm towards your thumb as far as you can letting your arm twist like a cork screw try and keep your elbow down and point at the ground then turn your arm in the other direction. Try and keep a slight bend in your elbow. I tend to do this every time I’m doing a long ride and after.

I got this technique from a physiotherapist works a treat not had a twinge since, still I now go to Tai Chi 3 time a week I found that I do not get back problems either.

Thanks for posting doublethink - out of all the physio stuff i've done I never came across your 'method' but am giving it a try right now :) if you ever need help with (what I consider) the best piriformis muscle stretch for part-relief from sciatica pains down leg(s) then please p.m. me.

I was once told that I had tennis elbow in the right arm and golfer elbow in the left, anyone would think I was a sporty sort! From memory tennis is on the inside of the elbow, golfers on the outside. Neither are nice but will subside if you can rest them from the cause for a while. Mine were thought to be caused by the vibratory handlebars of my Monster as that's what always bought it on.
Maybe winter will reduce your riding enough?

Grip size related. Bigger grips mean less pressure on the tendons. Worked for me as did the exercises also mentioned earlier.

Wow, quite a little Tennis elbow club then.

I've been out a lot on the scooter over the summer and riding it like Rossi to temper the boredom probably didn't help along with doing a lot more summer Monster miles. Not riding the scoot is not an option sadly but a change in riding style plus resting as much as possible has relieved it in one elbow already thankfully. Hoping the other will follow soon.
