My S4R mirrors are a little "floppy" anything I can do to "stiffen" them up so they don't fold back above 70mph or if I hit a bump?

Cheers

No, not the way I wanted to go. Would like to know if there is something a little less permanent. I'm trying to work out if I can tighten the tension first. Seems the way is to drill a hole in the base of the head and tighten the bolt up

What are they like on the S4R, lets have a photo as I may be able to help with an alternative method of securing them.

My advice is chuck them in the bin and start again, although the mirrors on the S4R are slightly more appealing than the mickey mouse ears that come as standard on most monsters I've never been a big fan of mirrors on the monster and removing them improves the sleekness of the design but I guess from a practical point of view they are good to have. I've tried several different sorts on mine and still not found any that I'm 100% happy with, so for now I am mirrorless, although I am thinking of trying a bar end linesplitter type and see how that is. Nice colour bike btw is it metallic orange? I've not seen one that colour before

I'll be keeping the mirrors or some mirrors, can't imagine riding a bike without them tbh. Thought about fitting some early round ones if I could find a good set as the ones on the M750 are great.

Yeah MEt orange with a Met black stripe. The met flake in the orange is gold and the met flake in the black stripe is green. Looks like a right tarts handbag. Not may about, though I have seen an S2R in the same colours near Exeter.

I just had a look in my spares box and found a virtually brand new set of the round mirrors from my old 800 monster, they were removed before the bike was collected from the dealers.
I also have a pair of s4r mirrors which were only fitted to the bike for a short period of time plus some ducati tear drop mirrors, and a couple pairs of the carbon fibre mirrors ducati made for the monster a few years ago.
I might be able to help you out should you need to find a replacement pair of mirrors.

And did any of them look good? The alloy tear drop ones are ok and looked the best that I tried, but the dp tear drop carbon ones are pants. Look like cheap crap. I'm considering a rear view video camera and screen atm so I can go without any mirrors and still see behind me

the carbon ones look pretty good fitted there but are a pain to adjust so were replaced with the ordinary satin black tear drop mirrors for every day use.
these are the ones I had fitted (http://www.ukmonster.co.uk/monster/showthread.php?t=23496) when SPM23 owned them, I purchased them from him, is that the carbon teardrops you ment?

the reason I no longer use them is down to having a set of the dp mirrors with led indicators fitted, the same as the monster on the 2013 weekender flyer on the home page.

Have you tried viagra? Pop one in about half an hour before a ride and it should keep everything nice and....................

I'll get my coat! :look:
