Exhaust leak?

I have a good bit of popping and burble from the exhaust when I close the throttle off, been reading a bit and people say it could be an exhaust leak, I started to look at the headers and noticed this.

Does this look like a dodgy exhaust gasket? Would this give me the popping noise on decal (running lean?)

In my experience, it's the join from the manifold pipes to the can link pipes under the engine that leak causing the bangs.
