My monster (900engine 41mm FCR's) does about 50ish to the gallon - what do you guys get? Are the S4rs really thirsty? What about the S4r?

Don't know about the S4RS and S4R but I got 63.8mpg last week from my 696 - suspect the school holidays meaning that there's less traffic in the morning so more of my commute is at 60 mph as opposed to filtering at 20 mph helped. Normally I expect around 50-55mpg.

I get from 120 to 140 out of a tank on the S4R

50-ish out of my M600, the old one and the new (when the new one runs).

I get 120ish miles on a tankful. my mate borrowed my bike recently for a trip to Liverpool and back, he reckons he got 55mpg but he is old and past it (nearly ready for an HD)

I have no idea what MPG I get. The lights flickers on sometimes then I know it's time to put petrol in the petrol hole. I wouldn't know how to work it out accurately without filling it to the brim twice?

On long journeys I get around 55mpg on my 1100evo. The fuel lights comes on at about 130 miles, but I do tend to overfill the tank especially if I'm travelling a long way.

The earliest I've had the fuel light come on is at about 100 miles, which could equate to as low as 45mpg.

I get about 50mpg on my 696 (best I've got is 53, but I don't know how I managed that). That's a 17 mile each-way, every day commute, mixing stop-start traffic with pootling and blatting down the A3.

I use my M750 mainly for short distances (My ST2 does the long distances) and get 50 mpg (ish)
For comparison my ST2 does 60 mpg and my 600SS does 40 mpg.
OK so it don't make sense until you realise that I thrash the nuts of the 600 to make it go. I ride the M750 in a normal civilised manner and the ST2 is doing out opf town main road work.

My 93 M900 (Stage 2 Dynojetted, K&N and free flow pipes) usually averages about 50mpg too but can get up over 55mpg, I could never get my M600 that high probably because I was usually thrashing it!

..............only gives me around 35 mpg on the B roads around the Lakes but I'd expect over 40 on better roads but then I'm more enthusiastic so I just go to 100 miles and then fill her up.

Cheers

Just to add to this. I've only just bought a S2R 800 standard 2005 12,000 miles on the clock. One of the first things i did was find how far a full tank would take me. 90 miles till the light came on and 18 miles till it all had gone. 14 litres goddam !! 3 gallons ( UK ) 36 mpg mostly medium A road riding. My 1200 bandit only goes that low when i crack on a bit.

It's a small tank and a thirsty range of bikes. You get used to it.

On my M900ie I get about 45mpg, roughly 10 miles per litre while driving around normally (80mph cruising on A roads etc) I have to nail it a lot to get below 35mpg

My S4R does between 90 and 110 miles before the light comes on, though it has a race Termi, ECU and open airbox with a K&N filter.

Obviously I am not wringing the full potential out of my measly M600 carbie as I get over 65mpg on it. Although its got the larger steel tank too...

I get similar from my S4 with full Termi, ECU and same airbox mods. (90-100miles) per tank.
