OK, so the first question may be why would you want and the 2nd, why don't you buy a 796? Problem is I'm sentimentally attached to my 696 as my late Dad helped me choose it.
Is it possible at all, or will I just have to add a 2nd Ducati to my garage ;) Has anyone tried it?
Ta for advice.

Still, why? Does it look that much better? I'd start by looking at tyre size and chain line, then S/A pivot, then shock length and mounting points.

Thanks folks - just a look see to be honest at the moment. As I have no intention of selling my bike, I wanted to personalise it just for me. I might be unusual, but I do like the single sided swingarm of the 796/1100.
Maybe I should just buy a 2nd bike!! Probably less hassle!!

Tricky bit could be getting the Speedo/Odo right, the 696 uses 6 bolts to sense rotation and the 796/1100 use 4 steel pins.
Not sure if this kind of difference can be fixed with a speedo healer or not.

Yes you can but ends up expensive so the latter is by FAR the better option!
