Hi,

Hope I've posted in the right section.

I have a 2009 M1100S and would like to smooth out the bottom end a little to make it a little more pleasurable at lower revs ( round town , slow roundabouts).

Thinking of having the ECU remapped - not for power reasons, just to tame the power delivery a little.

Has anyone had this done - who would they recommend - how much, whats involved.

Thanks in anticipation.

I've had all my Ducati's re-mapped and would HIGHLY recommend it if you have the time and an extra £500. Make a big difference to my 1200 Multistrada and my 1100 EVO, and would definitely make a difference to older bikes.
I would automatically factor it into a purchase in the future.
Manufacturers have regulations to adhere to and that's where all the problems come from.
You can change this and change that but you will not achieve the full potential of the engine without a remapping. You may get some of the way there but not the full potential.

Neath, Wales ?
CJS Racing is over between Bristol & Bath and I've used him a couple of times. Very good job and £500.

Hi Denis,
I spoke to Chris last week about flashing my ECU, fortunately he already has done a certain 1100 so has the maps. For that reason £100 is the price! Bargain.

It will vary if you have a different exhaust set up to what he has previously done though.

Thanks Alun

Sounds good - I have tried ringing Chris - but no answer - email doesn't seem to work either.

He's not the best of communicators.
Keep trying the mobile, he's probably in the Dyno room and can't hear it. And keep emailing, eventually you'll get hold of him :)

I'm sold! Just spoke to Chris and when I have some free time I'll be taking my 796 to him to get remapped.

Just on this... I have the Race ECU already installed (c/w race filter and termis)... is it still worth a remap? or would go down a power commander route?

forget Power Commander, that's like so last decade. Remapping is the better modern option.

And if you've got the race ECU it'll be better anyway. A remapping would make it even better but you may not notice a huge difference, a difference just not a huge one

ha... the only reason I say power commander is because it made such a difference on my fixer thou K4... I was always led to believe that quite a few ECU's had been tampered with beyond repair so I went down the PC route.... how safe are the remaps these days? and in your opinion its worth having my race ECU remapped?

If you've got £500 burning a hole in your pocket go for it. If you don't then I'd probably not bother.

Yea.... don't think I will bother. she runs pretty well I have to say, considering the 1198s I had before it just hated anything below 70mph....

remapping is good but with a PC3 you can modify to your hearts content .
