After the plan to sell the commuter Monster and relace it with a newer model that was running went West (see the The Last Owner was a Mechanic thread).

And being beset by many problems including, non-fitting rearsets, missing high level pipe fitting kits, seized bolts, gummed up carbs and finally a flat battery today I reached this stage!

Ok, so it need some polishing and buffing on the paintwork, a new rear brake switch bar ends and the belts done, but she runs on the button and is ready for the MOT.

To come are some rearsets, once I get myself into gear and send them to Utopia for remedial action, the belly pan (once I reinforce it with some GRP and clean it) and some new brake pads.

Phew!

So we're up and running!

Flew through the MOT! Belts, oil, filter, plugs all changed.

450 mile in a week!

Issues:

The gear lever decided to lengthen over the course of a ride, meaning I had to put my foot near vertical to change gear by the end of the ride.

One of the carbon air scoops decided it wanted to part company with the bike on the 2 lane part of the M26. That was half a mile of walking back to get it!

The brake pads are horrific!

The chain required tightening.

The handle bars were set to a weird place where I was neither leaning on them or leaning back, so I've re-positioned these.

No for the mods and fun...

Excellent.
Well apart from the airscoop and gear lever, obviously.
The summer stretches out in front ......
