I'd vote Cartagena since a) I know it - ish, b) its brilliant, c) its cheapest.

Appreciate you've both been there a couple of times already now though.

(edit: I may have to change my vote due to potentially having a terminator metal hand around that time.)

I was also thinking Cartagena cos 1. I know it 2. it's brilliant 3. not too many straights so my little bike doesn't get overtaken too much.

Postpone the wrist thing till after.

bex

I've already postponed it once, waiting for a new date.

you forgot Portimao with hot trax 13-16th sept (http://www.hottrax-online.com/product_info.php?cPath=103&products_id=15872)

weather will be likely be amazing mid sept

cost is £ 649, 4 days on track inc hotels, all food and drink & booze plus a 2hr endure race at the end (only if you want to do it)

bike drop off at brands

otherwise for sheer all out high speed cornering fun Jerez is really special. FE 4 days that would be my choice. november is too late in the year
Jerez is good for smaller twins as even through its quite long, its quite twisty with fast corners.
its also quite wide, flat and easy to learn where it goes, so you can focus on building corner speed.
its really rewarding track to ride

its one of the tracks where i have seen much smaller bikes like SV650's and SS900s hold their own against much faster bikes in fast group

Aragon is amazing, fast, technical and massive.
my 998 feels underpowered on that track its the only place i have hit rev limiter in top gear.
also not much to do around the track or hotel.

Almeria is always good value and good fun. its rarely wet, hotel etc is in a fun little spot on the coast.
only downside is that it does have a huge straight but you can still kick sportsbike butt round most of the rest of the circuit.

Thanks for the low down!

Although Portimao with Hottrax clashes with MOB Weekender for anyone planning to go.

Cartagena in Nov with NL?
its looking like thats the consensus

between us one kit of tools should suffice for most, only other thing thats worth bringing, kettle is good if your into your tea
a big fan to keep cool between sessions is good too

I haven't been on a euro track-day before so how does it work? Do they ship your bike and you then get a flight over there? Do they collect the bikes or do I have to take them somewhere - bearing in mind mine isn't road legal etc, etc.

Ta for any info

bex

Yeh you drop your bike off for shipping; we took them in a van, tie it down with whatever else you need to take, jump on a plane and meet it again beside the track. It was Hathaways Transport near Swindon last time. They also offered another pick up somewhere at extra cost but this was the main one.

Mine and Robs ready to go last January;

^^ Wot she said ^^

We dropped bikes in middle of Wiltshire a week before and left them strapped to shipping cradles.
We fly queasyjet to Spain, hire car to hotel, drink, briefing and dinner. Unload the bikes first thing in the morning and spend three days on track, strap the bikes back into cradles and head straight to the airport.
Pick the bikes up the following weekend.
We booked an extra night so we didn't have to rush back, the next day'll be a write off anyway if get in at 1am after 3 trackdays. By the time you've sorted everything allow about a grand for three trackdays (in the sun in the winter)

guys and girls

just got an email from focussed

they are doing an event at Mugello in september
the original offer which included bike transport, hotels and track time sold out in 3 days, but they have just announced a track only offer (not sure about hotels will find out in the morning)

3 days: £473
or
Fri + Sat: £420
or
Sat + Sun: £446

we would have to get the bikes there under our own steam but im very tempted to do this if i can. I would LOVE to ride mugello

so the choice is to either ride there or hire a truck to ship the bikes

anyone else interested? if there are a few takers i will see about pricing this up

Would be pushing it after several uk track days and Brno in a few weeks, September is our anniversary also, 10 years married, should survive and be allowed out on good behaviour??

Lets look at cost of shipping accomm etc etc. Was thinking we could have stayed at my Brother-in-laws but its a a 2-30hr journey each way, and i dont fancy that.

It will be a long shot though.

I'll call you tonight about Brno and Saturdays drop off.

just got a transport cost of £450 per bike inc vat door to door collect and drop off for up to 5 bikes (so no need to take the bikes to FE in worthing)

would still need to sort accommodation

slob
02-07-2013, 06:57 PM
blimey, for £450 per bike I'll deliver 'em for you

Funkatronic
02-07-2013, 08:31 PM
ok mate sold lol

it sounds like a lot but when i factor in the cost of a van and gas to and from worthing (approx £200 and the time/hassle etc), it seems like a pretty good deal to me tbh for door to door service

if you have car with trailer or a van of your own, or there are more bike in one van etc then its cheaper of course

and dude your a CCNA, surely that ticket earns u some decent cashola :-) and its Mugello !!! :-)

I just paid the balance, to ensure 'early bird discount', including Wed night at hotel.
Confirmed same hotel as Jan and same drop off near Swindon.

bex
31-07-2013, 12:43 PM
Early bird is £399 right? I'm sure they said this last time and then it still cost £399 the whole time, maybe I'm mistaken?

Liz
31-07-2013, 12:46 PM
I've just emailed them about booking extra nights' accommodation and they said the balance was due 8 weeks before the trip.

bex
31-07-2013, 01:01 PM
Yep that bits fine, I just paid the initial 200 but was wondering what the non-earlybird price is, if not 399... I think we paid 399 last time too, but couldn't remember if that was the discounted price or not. To my memory the price didn't go up in the end.

Anyways, no matter :)

Ah cannae wait! Where we going before then? I'd like to go Rockers again.

The Ducati day at Brands for me. Though it's probably Ducati only so the wasp might be barred.
