Ok first for 2004. Gentle bimble to get the wet weather gear wet and hone our riding on diesel skills

Feb 1st 2004. Ride to Chipping Norton.

Route and Pick up Points:

First pick up Oversley Mill Filling Station - Alcester Junction of A46 and A435 11.30 am

A46 towards Stratford on Avon and second pick up point at Safeway on A422. 12.15 for 12.30 set off

And then A3400 towards Chpping Norton. Expected arrival 1-1.30pm to park if we can in the centre of Chipping, Tis on a slope so be warned those with flip ups

Ride back towards Redditch will be via A44 Moreton in Marsh and Broadway. However if the roads are very dry I may turn the route around to take in Broadway Hill ( yes 'that' hill) but I will post alternatives pick up points in plenty of time.

:)

All those in favour say Aye :D

Seeing as the weather looks like it may be a bit dodgy I'll post up here on Friday afternoon ( for those at work) if this will go ahead or not, If we're all snowed in then i'd say it's a no no unless anyone has tyre chains
But.....weather persons have been known to get it wrong...oh yes they have :D

Keep those pinkies crossed :)

Shame it wasnt last weekend, dry bright and sunny - bit chilly but a nice "make you feel alive sort of biking day". I was out to Ross on Wye via Gloucester then back home over the old 7 bridge. With luck I will join you en-route or at the ride out final destination (maybe some of the other members of the Glous group will be out - who knows).

I shall cry off early and its not weather related.

Week before last bike failed MOT on excessive up and down (not side to side) play in the suspension rising rate.

On stripping it, I found the bushes gone in the shock end. Ordered 2 new ones and waited a while and last week they came in. Unbelievably they look just like the microfiche but nothing like my bike.
More e mails from Ducati Bristol to Italy, a puzzled parts manger, microfiches from every other model and intervention of the chief mechanic still failed to yield the right bushes.

In the end Ducati Bristol came good and we reused some old bits with a few new and alls well except I havnt got the bike together yet and wont till the weekend which leaves no time to do the MOT.

So I cant come out to play sorry!!!

Have a good time though.

Cheers for the PM ref bristol show..not sure about leaving bike with them ALL weekend without me watching it !!

Duncan

Nat

Youre right, its a good excuse to fit an Ohlins but having put new tyres front and back, spent a grand on the Volvo, another load on the Honda, had loads of other bills and Xmas in there, its not a good time to spend £400 more. My 900 has the higher spec Sachs Boges with adjustable rebound damping that the 600's dont have so its not a bad standard shock and despite having done 38,000 miles, the thing was in remarkably good nick.

Phoenix..Dont trust the weather!!! Left swindon this morning with bright sunshine and clear blue skys, and by the time I got to worcester I had the fog lights on and was driving at 50 on the M5 coz the snow was coming down so hard !!!! Hope the M4 is clear for my london trip  and things stay OK for your run.

Duncan...sachs boger shock..ahhh so youve never experienced pogoing on a monster then!!! (ive got the naff non adjustable jobby on my ickle 600!)

On one of our runs last summer, there was an undulating twisty road, and while trying to keep up with Julian on his SS (that was my first mistake!), the thing was bouncing all over the bloody place..it was like jumping up and down on a trampoline!!!

Guess mr ohlins has to wait for another 38k miles then mate !! (never mind, your only lining the pockets of yamaha anyway coz I think they own Ohlins dont they !!??)

Right so far it's raining ( good for washing the salt away ) and the forecast isn't too good. Now i don't mind riding in the rain but if it's really horrible, 90 mph gales and horizontal rain then we'll give it a miss.
Soooo tis up to you lot...I'll post up here Sunday Morning to say if i'm going. Fingers crossed :D

Julie and Ruth,

I agree it would be good to meet up. I think I'm piggy in the middle here (I don't know exactly where you are). So I suggest Rugby. I take it you haven't met Phoenix et al then?

Pete

Wait a minute, if we meet in Rugby, I don't get to ride :-(. I'll have a look at map.

Phoenix

Why not meet in Hinckley as it's between the two of you then take a wander up to Ashby De La Zouch for coffee and cream buns ?

NewMon

Also, when we gonna do this then?
