Hi,

Does anyone have a tea tray for sale which would fit my 1999 M900 please?

I am particularly fancying one of these (including indicators) if you think it would fit my bike:

[Thanks to Hellcat for the picture]

If you don't have one but come across anything on your travels please drop me a line.

Cheers,

Andy

Frame tail changed around 99 on monsters. The Y2K onwards tail fairing shown above is not a direct swap, although it probably can be made to fit with some mods to frame, plastic tail or both. Main difference was seat lock operation, tail mounting bolt positions and rear light mounting. Pre Y2K monster had tail lamp bracket welded to frame, on later bikes this is part of the plastic tea tray.

Early frame tail - up to 1999

Later frame tail - Y2K onwards

Gary,

Thank you for taking the time to provide such a thorough response. On the older model do the indicators attach directly to the tea tray or by some other means?

Given that the notion of modifying the frame makes me shudder, I should rephrase my original request:

Does anyone have a pre 2000 M900 tea tray kicking around which they would like to sell to me please?

Indicators on older models fix to the plastic number plate mount extension fixed under the tail.

Have your frame rails been chopped? If so you may have difficulty re-fitting a tail fairing of any type http://www.ducatimonster.org/forums/accessories-mods/191436-backyard-nip-tuck-job-pics.html

I saw an early monster with the after 2000 / 2001 on the other week.
There will be a way...
It may not be straight forward but certainly did not look like he'd been chopping his frame.
Gary knows way more then me!!!
Surely someone has????

I prefer the old set up to be honest ..

I have a nice unadulterated rear subframe:

The issues, which are twofold as I see them, are best seen from this view:

http://i1234.photobucket.com/albums/ff410/theandyb/52eb66dc-59bc-4419-84e6-b301c1a28660.jpg (http://s1234.photobucket.com/user/theandyb/media/52eb66dc-59bc-4419-84e6-b301c1a28660.jpg.html)

Namely, the rear end is suffering from "carbon overload" with the high termis being so close and I would prefer more conspicuous indicators, if possible.

Any ideas/suggestions will be well received.

ATB,

Andy
