Anyone painted the chrome rim on the headlight bowl, what paint did you use? Want to digit satin black but if I use a lacquer it will be glossy?

Cheers
Pete

I painted a chrome headlight rim black before, but got all the chrome off first. I don't think paint will stick to chrome...

The one I did, most of the chrome had already fallen off anyway. The rest came off easily enough with a wire brush - it was a 1960's Ducati... :o

if your going down the painting route and not powder coating, i'd use 2k ( 2 pack) paint. For a small item such as this as long as you wear a cartridge mask ( usually good for 15 minutes exposure) it's not a problem. Start doing this all the time and an air fed mask is a must. Clear laquer is available in a variety of gloss levels from super glossy to extreme matt. Rattle can clear is never going to be as durable.
