Has any one had a 796 remapped. Just got my bike back from Lee at Steel Heart Eng who has built a really nice custom exhaust for me , similar to a wasp works design (will post some pictures soon)
So i reckon its time to get the ecu remapped/replaced .Has any one got any experience, good or bad.

Thanks

Yes, I've had a few bikes done now.
The two experts are
1) http://www.cjsracing.co.uk/
2) http://bsd.uk.com/

in that order in my opinion. I used to have a power commander on my S4R but the remapping route is a much better option nowadays. Since then I've had a 1200 Multistrada done by CJS and my 1100 EVO too. The smoothness of fueling post the work is amazing. It won't neccessarily add much power, but the delivery of what you have will be near perfect.

It's quite a few hours work and about £500 with all the set up and Dyno time.

expensive thing to do, but made an amazing difference on my old s2r1000

I did my S2R 1000 the same time as Funkatronic and yes such a massive difference, expensive but it's well worth it. We had it done at BSD more as it was easier to get to for use.

Just spoken to Hilltop motorcycles near Mallory Park (not to far from me),seem to have plenty of race setup experience, some on duc's . They have quoted £350 all in for a custom remap and dyno time.
How does this compare with others?

Very good price I recon. Make sure they are mapping each cylinder separately, not the combined exhaust gasses.

From memory I think I paid just over £400.

Cjs sorted my 1100 out. It's perfect now.

They are going to investigate what mine is like while they have it, might cost me another wedge of cash.

The Ducati Performance ECU does not sort out the fueling! - It should but the engine runs lean? Chris at CJSracing tel: 07517490213 re-mapped my ECU and this has sorted the problem. It was well worth it and cheaper than having a piggy-back device and then a re-map.

I had my s4 done this time last year with a pc3 and mapped on the dyno 103 hp & 69 ft/lbs much smoother all the way through the rev range made the bike much nicer to ride the cost was €400.
