Hello each,

Short of phoning every Ducati dealer in the country (which I've started and got bored with), is there any better way of finding out who might have a demonstrator for an M1100 EVO ?

Better still, anyone know where there is one in the South East of England ? (Kent/Sussex/Surrey, etc.)

One dealer told me they had a 696 demo which would give me an idea of handling, ergonomics, etc. This I believe to be a load of nonsense.

Many thanks.

You need to ride the M1100 for sure. You will not even get the feel of position on a 696 as suspension heights different. Have you tried CMW in chichester where I got my 1100s from or Snells in Alton nr Basingstoke. Pro twins gave me that crap about a 696 so they went out the window once I tested at CMW's. Its a great bike honest and you will love it after 5 minutes once you get used to the clutch. Its a bit different to the 1100s one slightly and lighter.

Black Bob, we going to tempt you back then ?

1100 EVO is very nice. Light and nimble and pretty smooth. Much nicer to ride than my old S4R, but then much less powerful too. About 90 bhp at the rear vs 140 bhp on my S4R. But the ease of use makes up for a lot of that, not all, but a lot. I'm very happy with it.

Good luck with your hunt.
You tried Metropolis in Vauxhall, central London ?

Hey Bob, good to see you back, if you're the Mille rider who came to France for lunch with us a couple of years ago.

Wow - that was WAY more helpful set of responses than I could possibly have hoped for. Thanks ever so much, all of you. Char/Slob, that list is kind of what I hoped existed somewhere. There's definitely a couple of out-of-town places on that list that I could get to.

P&H was the first place I tried and was surprised they had no Monsters at all. I spoke to Rob at ProTwins and they have a 796 but, unlike Albie, I got the full lowdown on all the bar and seat position changes and how it's set up more like a sport bike. (So they haven't put me off - unless that was BS also?)

Slob - yes, it's me, still on the same RSV Tuono. Still not scratched that air-cooled Monster itch but that could change this year if I'm very lucky.

J.P. - YES!! :)

I saw that P&H Crawley had an 1100EVO in their second hand bit last Sunday.
