Hi all,

Been hanging around on here since passing my test last march, as the 1 yr annaversairy of getting my monster approached I was heading for MOT this morning, long and short is I hit some Ice and come off,

the damage is minor, both mirrors (tho I have origionals still), front brake lever and tank strap.

no real scrapes, but is not starting, I reacon its due to bieng on its side fir a while running.

Anyway its 2001 done 15k Miles.

New Chain and sprokets 100 miles ago,
New tyres front and rear 1000 miles ago (bridgestone sports tourning)
new plugs 2 miles ago :freak:

over all in good condition for year.

was looking at selling soon as I have been offered something too good to miss of my mate, but this has forced my hand a bit I think,

anyway I need to raise £1000min iether as a hole or in parts, is this possible?

thanks

Any pictures?
They would help with an idea of condition and value.

Being curious, whats the bike on offer to you?

Is it a 'fox eye' or has it an 'urban' paint scheme?

If its an urban... go for it!!

Is that the 929 or 954? Lucky sod if its a 954(i'm guessing it is if on an '02 plate), its the bike i always wanted after my earlier 'blade i owned. Last of the Tadao Baba Fireblades. Mmmm....:yoparty:

I would value your bikes damage at around £500. The most expensive beiong a tank respray. TBH if you got £1000-£1500 I think you may be lucky. Paint is the expensive part unless you want rattle cans.

Beats me how you slid off on the ice and broke a lever on the right side and got a scrape on the left side. It,s a shame cause it looks a nice clen bike, and the last of the carb models.

The most common thing monsters have is the tank dent !!
It's a bit of a joke ..
Drop them and bang the bars go straight into the tank.
I brought my 99 dark for £1200 with tank ding.
But it was running and the rest of the bits had been replaced.
You can pick up bits to replace from breakers .
Just be honest about what happened.

The most important thing is it runs.

This time of year if your bikes running you should get a grand for it.
It's red as well and the version with newer clocks and stuff .

well - judging by the interest I had it was a bit cheap, had lots of interest and it went within 1 day of it going up for sale :)

hopefully its a cheap fix for the new owner and will make them as happy as I was on it, otherwise the parts will bring him in few quid :)

went into a "speed way" style slide round a left hand bend, kind of got it back - then the front wheel hit some more and I lost it in the other direction. bashed the righthand side of the bars on the deck, broke lever and I think the shock transfered into the tank scratch.

there is no dent etc, and I think the left mirror bounced out at the same time as I couldnt find it anywhere. I think my leg saved it from most of the damage.

Sounds exciting stuff, glad you got away with it without damaging yourself. I have always fancied trying drifting the back end but never had the balls to do it. I do it in the car all the time.
