Hey Guys,

I've posted a few times recently about some starting problems on my 58 M695.

Initially, I had starting problems only then it cut out twice whilst riding (once in heavy traffic).

I've monitored this all winter and have been starting the bike every few days in the garage.

Again, today, it would not start, but turns over and over. I have to switch off and on again until I definitely hear the fuel pump priming. This, I think, is the issue. I lifted the tank and switchwed on. When the fuel pump does not prime, I get a single clicking noise from beneath the battery. If I repeat a few times, the fuel pump eventually is primed and I get a good start.

Does anyone know if this is likely to be a loose wire (or worse, a faulty unit). I haven't a clue about electrics, and don't know where tostart looking. Cheers..

wires can break inside the pump(they go through some kind of resin). Not easily diagnosed I'm afraid without taking the pump apart. hopefully won't be this thought..

Fuel pump relay would be 1st check. £5 gbp from Ducati (2.5 gbp in maplin) is worth gamble.
