My latest gripe - the bulb keeps on falling (vibrating?) out in the rear light. The bulb holder seems pants - it doesn't lock in place properly. Is there a retro fit bulb holder; otherwise I was thinking of a spot of silicon sealant to hold it in place.

graeme,
The bulb holders on some lights are a really loose fit, so the bulb vibrates blowing filaments with annoying regularity. if you carefully bend the metal holder with a set of thin nose pliers you can improve the fit, and with luck the bulb will stay put.

My bulb kept falling out / flickering so I wedged a couple of bits of silver paper from a fag packet between bulb and contacts - worked a treat!! Six months and counting!!

....And you working for a connector company too Ped!

Still, time spent fixing could be time spent riding as the saying goes.
