Hey all!
First of all thanks for having me at the UK monster forums.
I'm 28 years old guy from Finland and I got my first ever bike last September, I thought to start easy so I got myself a M900Sie
I'm glad that I found an active Ducati forum, that is not mainly based on US, cause shipping of used parts is much cheaper from UK :) Also I'm very interested in learning as much as possible about my bike, and I believe here I can find a lot of interesting information.
At the moment in Finland we have about -20C and lots of snow, so I'm just waiting it to get better, so I could get enjoying my Monster.

Yes welcome, your location made me smile as a few years ago I had a wobble around Norway Sweden and Finland on a 600 fazer! Went over to Finland to lay flowers on the grave of a hero of mine Jarno Saarinen. Google him as you may be to young to know him.
Anyhow enjoy the forum I'm sure you will, and it will soon be Spring.

Regards Marsh

Aimo - welcome from another non-UK member......can I ask you about what your choice of clothing is for the bike ? I think I will need to get proper waterproof(goretex type) textiles soon. I am looking at Halvarssons , Rukka and Hein-Gericke but would love to know what works in Finland ?

Huomenta, ja tervetuloa lumisesta plus/miinus nolla-asteisesta Lontoosta. Monsteri nukkuu talviunta, skootteri on lepaamassa ja itse teen duunia kotoa kasin, Lontoohan menee kiinni heti kun tulee yksikin lumihiutale.

Hello and welcome.
I think that the 900ie is probably a good choice....the carby models would surely ice their carbs in your climate.

Marsh....I remember Saarinen too....he was special. Probably would be as famous as Sheene, if he'd survived. Phil Haslam is another somewhat forgotten hero from those days who was also destined for legendary status.

Marsh, Now that you said, I remember hearing about Saarinen before. He was also mentioned in a book that I just finished, Keith Code's Twist Of The wrist.

Haynee, Sorry but I'm not able to answer your question just yet. The truth is that as I got the bike last September and I was able to ride it just 2 days. (I left it to my parents warm garage to sleep through the arctic wintertime) :( So pretty new to this =)

Paivi, heipä hei ja hyvää iltaa! Enpä sitten onnistunutkaan olemaan eka meiltäpäin tällä hirviöfoorumilla =)

And again, all the rest of you, thank you!

It is really nice to join a forum where you truly can feel welcome!
