I really want to paint my oil cooler, it looks tatty and is letting the bike down - has anyone done this? I appreciate I will need high temp paint and would need thin layers thus not to eliminate the coolers function.
Any help much appreciated!!

I did it with hammerite stuff, looked the dogs danglies and never had a problem.

Did you prep it Dave?
I used Eastwood black radiator paint (specially thin so it doesn't clog the fins) from Frost (http://http://www.frost.co.uk/eastwood-radiator-black-aerosol.html)doesn't look too shabby 20K miles later.

I think there is a heat dissipating paint 'available'.
Or you could search ebay for a Hyper cooler - if black is what you want. (German: ölkühler)

I prepped mine with a wire brush, sprayed with acid etch then spray painted with aluminium paint.
I used Nitromors, then a bloody good cold rinse and dry.
I liked the black rather than stock silver because it looks less obvious on the bike (and presumably more efficient)

which reminds me, I really must polish my exhaust headers before Spring.
