Depends on what you want to spend and if you've creased the metal. You can inflate the tank with low pressure air and heat the dent up and i'll pop out. You can weld small studs on and use a slide hammer to pull them out or for bigger dents weld a bigish ball bearing onto a bend bit rod, slide this into the tank and use it as an anvil to hammer the dent out.

Oh and you'll require a re-spray...

I was thinking of suggesting the air-pressure trick, but it does involve an element of danger so I resisted.
Whatever you do to knock the dent out, you'll be lucky if you don't still have to do a little filling in before repainting. I guess the air trick has best chance of being acceptable without repainting, but its unlikely to be perfect.
However you decide to proceed, its important not to knock the dent out so far that you end up with any slightly raised areas, which will make filling/refinishing difficult. This is possible on a larger dent as the metal is likely to have stretched somewhat, and won't go back to its original shape exactly.
I believe there are specialists around who are prepared to attempt dent removal without the need for repainting, but I have no experience of that, and their prices may be quite high. Might be worth checking them out though. Sorry, I can't remember what the process is called or how its done.

Try some "ICE CUBES" rubbed over the area or perhaps an ice pack , but try to contain the area of cooling/freezing, sometimes will pop out and of course no risk to life and limb and little or no cost or anything to loose £s

There are PDR (paintless dent repair) specialists throughout the UK, and many of them can work near miracles. Some won't want to work on a 'bike at all, but others will be willing to see if they think PDR is possible on your dent. Ask around at local 'bike & car dealerships to see who they recommend, or try the local 'Dent Wizard', 'Dent Devils', or similar franchisee.
