has any one had problemls fitting one of these to a m796. The seat lock cable seams to foul between rear light and seat tray or the rear spacers from the kit arn't long enough.

Had mine fitted by the dealer with no reported issues. Not sure it has the same configuration as your M796 though.

Any pics? I know other people on here have put them on themselves and may be able to help. I had all sorts of problems putting my standard one back on correctly, took about two hours fiddling with the cable routing.

No probs at all and I believe I had one of the very first ones made. Just try to route the cable carefully. Pics may help us see
