wrong gear/two low for speed back wheel hopping all over the place cos of engine breaking. not nice. what a waste though least theres not too much damage.

If he'd just relaxed and steered round the corner he'd've made it. Once he 'thought' he couldn't make it, he probably even had time to completely stop if he'd just used the front brake.

I wrote the above and then looked at the skipping rear again. Was that a mechanical failure or did he bang down too many gears?

Locked his rear wheel and panicked I think.

Anyone else notice his 'ghetto' exhausts.

I'm tempted to say "because of the date".....13th.

Looking at the guard rail, it looks like that corner caught someone else out previously.

Thats Mulholland Highway or whatever its called, some greats vids around of bikes up there, and plenty of crashes too! I watched this one before and thought it was pretty odd too.

Seems to be knee down practice mania.

I blame the bikes

Definitely in the wrong gear (not sure whether too high or too low though), and a perfect example of looking where you don't want to end up.

Obvious really - two exhausts on the same side = lack of balance and with all the weight on the rhs had no chance - should've bought a proper Monster with an exhaust on both sides.

....OK I'll get me coat

a lack of rebound damping (on the rear)

possibly

Was it my imagination or was the motor stopped before he stuffed it?

Looked quite saveable, guess he muffed the bend before, got an odd line going in and panicked probably carrying a bit more speed than he was happy with.

1.32 minutes in I know what I would be fixated on........and it won't be the curve in the road.

can't generalise but studying the Mulholland footage makes you think that the road takes on an unexpected and subtle camber change sloping off to the right and exactly when you don't need it i.e. - a left hand bend. The amount that the riders (that mastered it) are leaning compared to their speed seems to confirm this.

Great observation - that's what I thought.

It seems at first most leans were exccessive - turns out there's a good reason for their actions.

Too much weight transfer onto front wheel due to heavy radiator

If he was on a proper aircooled monster he would have got away with it... simples ;)

You can tell they're not trying the rear wheel isn't spinning up on the exit. Also no=one backing it in, come on I see this most weekends in Cornwall, if us $h!t kickers can do it...

As for the blue monster I think he had a mechanical, or ran out of fuel

Simple he came round the bend and see that woman in the second video ?
Taking shots of them ... I think she flashed at him :)
