For those who have been before you know the drill however
For those who have not been to one of our Weekenders (all are welcome!) , this will be held over the 1st May bank holiday weekend in the Cotswolds
It is held over three nights in a hotel, this year there will be an option for a two night stay as well
Prices include dinner bed and breakfast per person based on two sharing
Bookings are first come first served - we have run out of space in previous years – therefore we ask for a deposit cheque and completed booking form in the post to reserve your space (we can do bank transfers if you can't find your cheque book) but forms in post please

Pricing will be very similar
All will be revealed tomorrow - just waiting for a couple of pieces to fall into place, but heres a taster

Charlotte, Martin you'll choosen a beautiful hotel in a charming village on a really quiet road (A422) Banbury to Stratford on Avon so well done I'm sure it will make a wonderful venue.
Thanks...

Can I ask the question why the deposits so high. 2 day stay 66% deposit and 3 day is 45% deposit. I guess I will have to just do it whatever but I do wonder.
Form now filled in.
Also if I cannot make the evening meal on friday due to travelling up and staying on Friday night can I have the meal on Sunday evening and travel home Sunday night

May pop up for the day, #Ihavenomoney :banghead:
Listen guys - we're all friends here and we have just been following format from previous years
If anyone has trouble paying full deposit now then please PM me and I'm sure we can sort something
We just need names (completed booking forms) of those who want to come and a deposit to hold the room
As you know in the past we have filled up quickly
Banbury is only a few miles up the road and there are other options for b&b etc for those that perhaps only want one night or a different option

I just wanted to ask the question I am sure others must have thought similar.

Looking at the booking form, the costs are based on 2 sharing a room.
If you would like a single room is there a premium to be added to the costs?

Thanks Char, Martin and Bex, new venue looks great and poster superb, thanks for all your hard work.
Good good - as before there will be an option for just joining for meals - prices posted later but about £30-£35 for the evening meals so better value really if you are staying but just to say the option will be there - and there will be some type of finger buffet for the Sunday lunch time for those who cant mannage from brekkie to dinner or for any day trippers

Looks good and you've put in some hard graft already.
I can't plan for May yet so can't to put pen to paper to confirm.
Will there be an option nearer the time for only staying one night? No hurry for an answer as I suspect it will depend on what hasn't been booked.

I'll be there again one way or another, but probably on a limited budget (again), so likely to be just a day trip, unless.......
Is there a camping option at the new venue ?
Also, there was some talk of a band. Any further news on this ? I know that Albie said that he knows of one, as do I, if thats of any help.
Thanks again to organisers, past and present.
No camping on site but there is a camp site 2 miles up the road

You might want to be careful if the band doesn't get sorted, you could end up with an assortment of UKMOCers bringing along their banjos, bagpipes, mouth organs and ukeleles for an impromptu three day jam. I may bring a bass guitar, just in case I'm needed, I could treat everybody to a two hour bass solo :)

What's the reason for not going to the Mill next year?
Pooh
What's the reason for not going to the Mill next year?
Pooh
There were many reasons for a change - this has not been a new idea , its been looked into before but it was a bit of a case of now or never
1 - pricing - value for money was lacking at the Mill for 2013
2 - the option of a two night stay with more rooms available at the Wroxton
3 - rooms - lack of tea/coffee making facilities and shabby accommodation/cold showers in the Mill (and a Plague of flying ants)
4 - dwindling numbers
5 - general change of scene
6 - couple nice pubs a quiet stroll from the Wroxton
7 - plenty of B&B/motel options in Banbury for those who do not wish to stay at hotel
There is no reason for the next 'organisers' to not go back to the Mill - we felt however that the superb car park was not reason alone to stop us from seeking out new horizons & new ride outs - :ukm:

As a new comer to to club (I've only attended the Mill on four occasions) I think that Charlotte and Martin are firstly very courageous for organising the weekender and secondly finding a new venue, it's time to move on and I personally am looking forward to the new location and wish them all the luck in the world with their venture...:hail:
Don't forget folks it's up to us all at some time over that weekend to make an effort to attend and thank them both for taking on the task...

I am also looking forward to a change of venue. As buzzbomb has said it would be nice to see some new faces and have more people popping in for a visit and maybe a ride out who are not staying at the weekender.

Hi
There are loads of B&B's in nearby Banbury - Trip Advisor is often a good option for a search
http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotels-g190758-c2-Banbury_Oxfordshire_England-Hotels.html
Not sure though that by the time you've paid taxi fares etc (if you drinking!) staying at the Wroxton would be cheaper
There is also a campsite just up the road to which I posted a link to earlier
Hope to see you there!

What is available on a 'pick and mix' basis?
I live in the area and also have a working relationship with The Heritage Motor Centre at Gaydon being involved in organising a Vintage Motor Rally for them.

Hi Geoff
If you dont want to stay you can still join us for meals - breakfast and or evening any days , just need to let me know which,,
Plenty going on with day trippers on the Sunday
If you wish to stay the prices are based on either one or two nights - and rooms still available
If you were after a single night then please contact the hotel direct and they may be able to assist
Trip to Gaydon all booked in with guided tour but always on the look out for anyone wishing to help organise parking photo opps etc

I would be glad to help at Gaydon in any way you wish.
I personally don't need a guided tour as I do events there have 'done the tour' dozens of times. I was in fact doing 5 seminars for them on organising 'Moving Events' just over a week ago during the 'Club Expo' day on the 2nd March. My next event there is a major Road Rally that I am organising for them in June.
Let me know how I can help.

I'm starting a new business that week! Love to come along but it may be a day trip in the car for me, possibly the Sunday.
:spin: plenty of day trippers - mostly on the Sunday - you can still enter into the bike competitions/raffle/join us for breakfast and or dinner to so long as you confirm any meals in advance

Have a great time everyone....I can't make it as Mrs Nambduke and I will be sat on the ferry heading off through France, into Northern Spain, down into Portugal before returning up to Santander to Portsmouth and home Up North!
Apologies in advance but.....it wont be on the Monster....it'll be on the R1200RT....we reckon to be doing about 2500miles total.
Best regards

Hi Mark
Have a safe and enjoyable trip. Don't forget, you need to carry a couple of disposable breathalyser kits & I think Hi-Vis vests are now obligatory in France

Captain Slow these days! Especially with precious cargo aboard!! Pipe and slippers on the new barge! We are both looking forward to the trip actually. Long way but we'll get to see plenty.
I have to check the status of the hi-vis stuff....I thought it had recently been dropped. 150mm2 is all that's needed on your clothing I think which is nothing really speaking...most jacket have something on them anyway. We have some compliant breathalyser kits I keep in the car that will do. Sat nav needs speed cameras removing - again, I think. Its our 30th anniversary in May and with the boys flown the nest (Richard is in Oxford now - recently gone trackside with Marussia having left Mercedes and Nicholas at Loughborough university) we are a couple again! Touring on the RT should be good....hoping the snow will have disappeared by then!!
Hope to catch up with you sometime this year!
Best regards
Mark
