Hey guys, I've been searching for wheel bearing sizes for both front and rear wheels on a '99 m600 dark for a while. problem is I keep getting conflicting info on sizes, can anyone help please?!

There are 2 thicknesses of rear wheel bearing used on 17mm spindle bikes: 12mm and 14mm; the 12mm is a 6203-2RS/C3 and the 14mm is a 6303-2RS/C3.

I have just replaced the wheel bearings in mine and used the thicker 6303-2RS/C3. The sprocket carrier uses 6005-2RS/C3 (Qty 2) ID is 25mm to fit the bush.

However my wheel is from an SS1000DS, but I also have a wheel from a '99 M600 Dark in the workshop which uses the thinner 6203-2RS/C3 bearings, not sure when they changed or which bikes used which though - you may need to remove the wheel to see?

As for the front, my bike has a 916 front end which has a 25mm spindle and uses 6005-2RS/C3 bearings (Qty 2) the same as the sprocket carrier but yours may use a thinner spindle.

I have just been through the same thing I changed the rim on my 98 m600 and they do have different bearings from early to later. I have an email at work will post it tomorrow. I have purchased some spacers to make up for the thinner bearings

I can not find the email expalining it, as mentioned my 98 M600 Dark. I have replaced the rear rim with a Rim from a M600 95, so I was told? the bearings that i have are too thin and when putting the rear wheel on it locks up on the rim. I was scratching my head and though i had the wrong bearings as they are seated in and not flush like the old rim. I spoke to Craig at Moto Rapido and in an hour he had figured it out and gave me the solution, two spacers. Give Craig a call, he'll sort it out for you.

Personally, if the wheel requires thicker bearings then I'd rather fit them than a spacer. Bearings are cheap enough and a 14mm bearing will be stronger than a 12mm bearing without the added extra part to go wrong.

But whatever you do don't fit the thin bearing in a wheel that needs a thick one without suitable spacing or the wheel bearing will collapse whilst in use.

Yes correct, and the thicker bearings are no longer available, for the early rims, thats why i had to go for the spacers, I to would rather the correct bearings.
