Ok, so I've fitted me s****y new combined Digital speedo and analogue tacho to the S4, wired it all up and it's looking niiiiiice!

Question: It has alarm indications for Oil and Water temperature, so what should I set them to (in degrees C) ? I can set anywhere between 60 and 250 degrees.

Cheers

P.S. For some reason, the system won't let me spell s****y (rhymes with spanky), can't think why

I know the cooling fans on the S4 usually kick in at 105 and 110 degrees C and they normally bring the temp straight back down again.

If it was me then I would probably want my warning light to come on if the temperature goes much above this threshold as much above this probably indicates a problem with the cooling... say 115 maybe?

Oil I have no idea! :)

The fans operate sequentially according to the following: schedule:
With the temperature increasing, the first fan is energized at 101°C / 213.8°F, the second fan in energized at 102°C / 215.6°F.
With the temperature falling, the second fan is de-energised at 101°C / 213.8°F and the first fan is de-energised at 100°C / 212°F

the forum doesn't want you to get upset if someone calls you a ****er ;-)

on my aircooled bikes i've seen 135 c on trackdays but never seen it read 'hi', you'd hope the oil ran a little cooler on a kettle though

Yeah, probably a case of "suck it and see", if I set it to a starting temp of around 120 c and see if it comes on, if it starts to annoy me by continually flashing then I'll up it a bit

Thanks Capo, I'll set it to 103 C and see how it goes
