I very much like the look of a stubby carbon fibre exhaust on the Monster 1100 Evo. What I have in mind would look something like this.

The exhaust in that picture is a Hotbodies MGP Growler. I would probably use an A16 Moto GP exhaust, the body of which is 225mm long. It will take a bit of bodging to make it fit, but it is possible (as are most things).
It looks like this on a Triumph Street Triple.

My only concern is something that has been told to me by the guys at Pro Twins. They say that even baffled an exhaust like the A16 Moto GP is very loud. I used to run my M1100 with unbaffled Termis so I don't mind loud, but apparently the sound of a baffled stubby exhaust is different. It's a lot harsher sounding and therefore can sound louder than the Termis even when its baffled.
Will I be able to live with the sound of a stubby exhaust or on the long rides I do or will it be too much? I do wear ear plugs with an SNR of 34 dB (reduces the volume of a pneumatic drill to that of busy traffic) so it may be ok for me, but maybe my neighbours won't be happy with a nasty sounding exhaust compared to the Termis I had on the old bike (which they only objected to once).
What do you think?
