A few of us have been chatting about going to the NW200 next year. Whilst dates have not been offically released, based on this years dates, I expect the dates in 2013 will probably be 12th to 18th of May.
Race day is the saturday, watching at least some of practice would be on the cards, so allowing for travelling to the ferry, watching part of practice , the racing and returning home I would suggest allowing 5/6 days. The plan will be to travel on the 15th to the Portrush area via the ferry from Holyhead to Dun Laoghaire using the HSS, then travelling on to Northern Ireland and Portrush. The return journey would be on mon 20th using the same crossing.

The dates for the 2013 NW200 have been confirmed the 12th to 18th of May.
As we now have ther dates, due to the popularity of the festival and the interest in hotels and b&B's in the area,I thought it might be an idea to update the list of people interested in going, so we can get an idea of rooms required.
If you have never watched 'real' road racing, the NW is a great intro. The races are seen as one of the warm ups for the TT, many of the big names of road racing will be competing.

Have fun guys. I would love to come but I am off to the TT 2013 for a lifelong dream to come true. I hope to one day be able to go to Ireland to watch real roadracing other than the TT.

I will be looking forward to the reports from you to which may make the TT wonderful racing and who is on form.

Brilliant days out. we tried to book this year for next and were told the B&B is full. Used to go every year, about 15 in a row I think was my record :) but when we took a break we've been too late to get "our" rooms back.
INMHO the Ulster GP is better, NW200 is too commercialised but PortRush has some top bars and clubs :) ah, them were the days, cheeky monkeys :)
Only an hour to the ferry for us :) and that's the Stranraer one, the one from Troon is only 15mins !
