A few people have asked what plans (if any) we have for the trip this year. If you've been following the threads so far you'll have noticed we'll be eating at the Boskapelhoeve hotel on Saturday night for a change. I think we plan to head to the Groene Wanderling as usual on the Sunday night, or possibly find another venue nearby.. either way we're in for plenty of this :booze:

There was some talk about doing a theme night again, but this has since fizzled out. We have made the effort with loud shirts or silly wigs in the past. Is anyone really that bothered for 2012.. or shall we just give it a miss and save our euros for beer? ;)

As we are all heading from different locations on Saturday, it'll be difficult to meet as a group prior to arrival at the hotel. Most have been over at least once or twice before, so should find the B&B ok, but if you have any concerns about the ride into Belgium please post up here.

Jan's planned a scenic route on SatNav for Sunday's ride out to Moerzeke. He offered to email this file over to me but it's in GARMIN format, so no good for my Tom Tom. Can someone else that's going over, and has a GARMIN download and use this route for us?

Please treat this thread as our pre-Belgium chat area and feel free to post up. Bear in mind we can always discuss more detailed plans once we get out there, and have a better idea what the weather will be like on the day. I've always considered the MOB weekend to be a relaxed, chilled out event with minimal pre-planning, and to be honest I would rather keep it that way.

Don't forget your documents, european recovery, travel insurance, green card cover, alka seltzer etc.. etc..

More money for beer sounds good Gary. let's face it, most of us look silly anyway. :D

No Garmin here I'm afraid. As you say, best left to see what the weather is doing on that weekend and keep it relaxing and fun. :booze:

Thanks for the offer Martin but it would be simpler if you (or someone else with a GARMIN) downloads the route map and leads for the group.

It is possibility to programme a route onto the TomTom manually, but it's a real PITA to do this on the fly.

i'm more than happy to lead Gary, thought it might have been easier if your trike lead, i think that most years they send an escort to collect us and we diligently follow them and that has normally worked, im sure you'll keep up

(normally i'm made to ride at the back)

as for silly hats, wigs or shirts, ill go for the beer option as ill struggle with taking extra clothes for one night, luggage is tight on these newer fangled bikes

Also happy to not meet up off the boat either and make our own way to the hotel, where hopefully the sun will be shining and the beer cold in the garden :booze:

Relax :-)

Actually that may work out quite well

With Martin's athletic profile up front acting as a windbrake... I should be able to hit a ton plus on the trike with ease. In fact I may even be able to stick the motor in neutral and just get sucked along in the slip stream.

Loving the beer/food planner by the way :chuckle:

Game on
