on the adjusters at the bottom of the fork leg under calipers mine just screw in and out without any clicks has any one adjusted them if so do they have clicks my evo seems a bit soft on the front end seems to use all the front fork travel under braking

Is that not down to spring preload rather than compression damping? The amount the fork compresses under a constant load (braking) is determined by the spring, the compression damping controls how fast the fork is allowed to compress, not how much it is able to compress?

Sound like you need to adjust the spring preload, not the damping...
