Hey to all, 3 of us are riding to Brno, from Basel but going the southern route, taking in as many passes as is humanly possible throught the Swiss alps, and the Austrian mountains(alps maybe) then heading north to Brno.
Where we will spend 3 days attending the world superbike .

Before riding back through Germany , austria and the center of Switzerland. (north route)

Should do about 400 Kms per day all being well, but taking about 8Hrs to do each.

Any good ideas for spectating at this track, and evenings out after, bars food etc????

Thanks:biggrin:

these are great maps for passes but think too far south for your route

The circuit at Brno is ace. You can walk all the way round so take some time on practice day to pick your spot. We've had grandstand seats a couple of times as well as gone general admission and never been disappointed. Watching them come up the hill into the last couple of corners and desperate for an overtake is pretty good – especially when Gibernau runs out of fuel two corners from the end!

Places to drink: Pegas bar is a must:

It's very beer kellar with its own brewery. Can't remember if it does food. Be prepared to share a table – usually full of other race goers, many German and eastern European who just want to talk bikes and petrol. Really friendly place. Every time we've gone to Brno we have been and have had some fantastic nights there and met some lovley people. Waiters keep a tally on your beer mat and the slivovice flows freely later into the wee small hours.

On a tourist front, there are some amazing caves about 30 mins north of Brno. Can't remember what their called, but any decent tourist guide will name them. Booking is a must, but we missed out slot (bad, bad hangover from Pegas the night before added to them being a little hard to find) and still got in.

Enjoy!

Thanks for that, we arrive Thursday, and going VIP for the weekend(access all areas), and leaving Monday, and are now getting excited. Weather is being weird but what the hell.
