WDW has re-ignited my love for motorcycling so am looking for some additional days out.
as the title suggests, there is a track day at Lydden Hill on Saturday 21st - yes, a weekend!! If you haven't been there before, it's a great little track. Very easy to learn, short straights so ideal for those who love corners (ducatis) rather than the all-out speed merchants.
A few of us did it a few years back and had a great day out. It's perfect location for the Londoners and Kent mob as it's pretty local. It's relatively cheap @ £100 but I've got to phone back tomorrow to see if we can get a group discount if there is enough interest.
One word of advice though. Do not have the large fry-up baguettes at lunch time. Bad things happen if you do. Any takers?

Don't think my bike will be completely sorted by then but I'm up for the one in September if it still on the cards..

I'm not in any hurry so am happy to wait 'til September - or do both :) They also do single sessions for £20 as well - ideal if you want to dip your toe in but didn't want to waste too much money - just in case.
It's more fun with mates after all.

I'm pretty much always up for a track day, been to Lydden several times and love it! Still slower than your granny, but love it. I'll keep an eye on the forum. Was planning to do Bedford autodrome on July 21st, so I'll look out on here for dates. Hopefully we can sort something out, it's a perfect track for monsters.

I'm going to this. Lydden is a great little place. Track surface isn't great but it has a fantastic atmosphere.
Taking the 'berg and maybe the 749RS.
Just out of curiosity...can you sign on to ride a couple of different bikes on the one track day?

I'm sure you can. You are paying for the person - not the bike. I've done many track days where I've borrowed someone else's bike for a session so I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem.

Of course, if I can get it there. It currently lives in Frome which when I checked on a map is rather further away from Lydden than I'd realised when I first posted!

I'll call first thing tomorrow but with this heatwave we're having, they may have sold out all the spaces .... not.

I've just spoken to them and while they have plenty of spaces, the discount doesn't kick in until 15 spaces.
We have 7 (at the moment) and I suggest seeing how many more people show interest this week. If we don't get the 15, then book individually. The discount isn't massive (£85 instead of £99) but it is welcome in these economically stretched times.
I was thinking of doing the ones in September as well so maybe I can 'negotiate' by booking 15 spaces - just stretched over two days? It's all guaranteed money for the track that has to be a good thing right?

Since there was no chance of us reaching 15, Marchesini and I are now booked in Inters
Sadly won't be coming unless my replacement license appears in the post by Friday.

Well its been raining here on and off most the day (Canterbury) but the forcast is good for Saturday.
I did not get any paperwork from the track but did speak to them today and all is ok the briefing is at 8:30 and the gates are open from 7am
Its been well booked and is running 4 x 15 min sessions per hour from 9am.

Cheers guys n girls for a great day at lydden hill.
The sun was out the track was not to busy and we all stayed out of the gravel. I had forgotten how much fun my local track is.

Ditto that! A really good day all round and a great little track! I only had to take avoiding action once when the guy on the bike in front of me fell off on the only left-hand bend of the track :eyepopping:
Thanks to Scrapps and Heather for their hospitality over the weekend too and we'll see you next week for Calne Bike Day!
Grand day out, mildly sunburnt and still aching.
