Horsepowe - how much?

Bought myself a 900 Monster today, a 97 model on an S plate. I'm advised that it is a German spec machine.

I received the handbook/owners manual with the bike and I a bit concerned by something I read there. The main part of the generic manual, published in 95 Ithink, states the output as 80 hp Yet the 97 model supplement that so acme with the bike states the output at 66 hp. Is this right? First I've ever heard about it. If so, how do I put it right?

Hi Tim.

Your bike should be putting out the full 80 horses. :D

Considering the other bikes you have perhaps your 'seat-of-the-pants' dyno needs recalibrating!! :lol:

Thanks Lee for the confirmation. I'm pretty sure it's just a tryping error in the suppllement. I think it says that the 750 is 64 or so and 900 is 66. Just can't be right.

Must admit it doesn't feel that lively though. There again, not much would after my Fireblade :D
