Is it just me or do a lot of aftermarket petrol tank caps come without any venting? I bought a cheapo alloy one for my project, but looking on the web even the pricey ones that are quick release (screw in) don't seem to have any venting.

Doesn't the cap need to be vented to avoid a vacuum building up and preventing fuel flow?

If so, has anyone had to deal with this problem, or can anyone recommend nice aftermarket blingy caps that are properly vented?

my oberon one is vented (as long as the little hole doesnt get clogged)

The ones I have seen all have a vent built into the housing.
Without a vent, the engine will soon stop.

Can be a bugger to clean those through the tank vent tubes :fiery:

Thanks all - I think it's back to standard cap until I can justify an Oberon... My ebay special has no venting, but it was cheap as chips and looked fine for the Bike Exif and UKMOC photoshoots :)
