Front fork seals blew while touring in Switzerland last summer (beautiful), now winter here time to do replacement work. Bike in dining room with forks out.
My problem is i m having trouble finding the right grade oil 7.5w. My local bike dealer says if i mix same amount of 10w with 5w i ll come out with 7.5w, sound plausible is that right?. Any advice, info much appericated.

I have done this when setting up my endure race bikes and it works fine.

try automatic transmission fluid

it works fine and is a fraction of the price

ATF is way more viscous than fork oil, they usually put in additives for the high shear areas, solid lubricants that make it seem less viscous.
Depends how you like your forks set up I guess.

Surfer must be the most patient member on here. He's waited 4 years for advice, then he gets all these responses in 1 day.
