Noticed a few small cracks last week but nothing much, thought id put a few more miles on it before i got a new one, should have just changed it straight away!!!:dunce: Teach me being tight!
So tomorrow off to see Carl Harrison for a new rear, got to do 50 miles up there on it. should be okay shouldn't it??

It's only breaking down on the 'lightening' stripe, you'll be fine. It's a rib of steel band they all fit to tyres these days to let it earth out and eliminate a build up of static in the bike. Some tyres show it from new, others show it as they wear.

Often you just get a fine line where theres a bit more conductive stuff (assume it's carbon or similar) set into the tyre material itself.

I use Tread First in Sudbury for my tyres, their prices are slighty higher than the net, including fitting, and I find their service very good.

Thumbs up for Carl .... not using the garage I used in Ippo again they left out my rear spacer on my back wheel when they changed my tyres... nearly killed me.

That tyre is knackered and I would get it swapped ASAP. What's the front like? If in a similar state to the rear a fresh pair could be in order

I've just stuck a new set of Michelin pilot road 3's on the Buell

£270

Mind you £45 of that was down to 20% VAT.. the robbing feckers :cens:

Thats better!! A new Diablo £112 inc vat fitted at Carl Harrison's.

Front tyre was new when i brought bike, about 2000 miles ago, so okay for a good while yet.

Ride my bike in all weather on my daily comute, seeing some nice fat tread on my tyre when its wet or icy makes me feel alot better!
