Ducati Insurance, and all the other comparisons, keep bringing up Equity Red Star as the cheapest.

I've never heard of them, however they seem to be under investigation for something at the moment.

Anyone here insured by them and had any problems?

I was insured with them a few years ago. I had no problems although I never had to claim. Seems you usually only find out how good insurance is when you need to claim.

They sound alright then. Just got to decide whether to go fully comp or TPFT this year, moving to Birmingham has put my FC premium from £130 to over £500!

been good for me, made a few claims too and they have been very straight up (as much as insurers can be)

They were the underwriter for a policy I had through MCE - my bike was written off and they were prompt and fair with the payout, I dealt directly with them and found them to be very professional. Can't say the same about MCE though!

Made a couple of claims with Red Star, although a little slow no problem with settlement at all.

Currently I have 4 bikes insured with Renew Insurance, primiums excellent for FC and 2 drivers, although I have mature years on my side, not too far from B,ham either.

My insurance broker (A-Quote) - been with them for years, is underwritten by Equity Red Star - had a claim 18 months ago when some Idiot (on another bike!!!!!) ran into the back ofmy monster - I wasn't taxed (just ran out officer) and had a Bald front tyre (oops) the insurance assessor picked up on both of these mishaps but they still paid up - jobsaguddun!

Since I passed my Mod1&2 2 years ago my insurance has been with Equity Red Star through Swinton.
Not had any claims (touch wood!) so can't comment on them apart from they are the cheapest insurance I can get.

Months of arguing with them after they wrote my bike off mainly due to a damaged tank.

I have not been happy with their claims dept.
Who not only made up random reasons each time I called but also informed a salvage company and finance company (who were calling to offer me a loan to buy a replacement) that they had written off the bike before they told me.
This had the knock on effect of something that could have been sorted out in a week take nearly two months. Plus the added stress.
That's just my personal opinion of them though. There is a shorter way of explaining them.
