Hi, i searched this forum for an answer but am still not entirely clear - i know later m900's had 750 heads with the smaller valves but i also read a vague reference to injected m900's having 900 heads with BIGGER valves. My question is which heads has my monster got or is there a way to tell without stripping the engine? It's a 2000 m900sie.

In theory there should be V sign on heads with bigger valves.

Don't know about ie models but with the carby 900 the big valve is marked 'V2' and the small valve 'W2'.

Here's what to look for;

As Lukas says, if you have the larger valve heads you will find V2 stamped into the casting..

Just out of interest, does anyone know if it is possible and/or worthwhile to fit the larger valved heads to a 2000 carby M750 ?
Its a notion that's been in the back of my mind for a while.

I think the motor spec on 900ie monsters is the same as the 900ssie of same vintage

The 900ssie spec cam is favoured with tuners on earlier 900 engines as it has a very good profile
