Got this from another forum I use

Not sure if these will effect anyone here (it would had Justin), but there are some nasty new rules coming for sellers.

For anyone who is currently a Top Rated Seller and enjoying a 20% discount on fees, to keep TRS status, going forward, you will have to have tracking on 90% of your items shipped. Tracking will have to be uploaded within one day of sale (in other words you have to ship all items within one day of sale) and you will have to offer a minimum 14 day return policy. This is regardless of item size or cost. If you don't do all these things, you don't get the 20% discount anymore, though you will keep your TRS badge, assuming your ratings are good enough to qualify of course. The above rules apply to sales to US based buyers only. If you ship internationally, you do not have to have tracking.

Pictures will have to be a minimum of 500 pixels along the longest edge and cannot have any text on them, save a watermark. For many sellers, this will mean re-taking hundreds if not thousands of pictures. (Don't think the diecast sweat shops are going to like this one).

There is a new return policy coming. For now it is optional but will most likely be mandatory, for at least top rated sellers if not all sellers. That policy is: the buyer who wishes to return an item no longer needs to open a case or even contact the seller. All the buyer has to do is click on 'return item' in their purchase history section. Ebay will automatically bill the seller for the return shipping charges. This is currently being done on eBay, for those sellers who have opted into the program...it's a beta test of some kind, for now. It means buyers can now basically rent things for free and return them after use for a full refund of all monies paid and at no cost to them. Slick. You may be asking yourself: "I wonder if this applies to DVDs, clothes etc." Yes it does!!!Who needs NetFlix, when you can do that cheaper on eBay!

The cap on Final Value Fees on higher priced items has been raised from $100 to $250.

eBay is now trying to discourage direct communication between buyer and seller. They are offering automatic 5 stars on the communication DSR rating if you DON'T contact the buyer, but ship within one day and offer a 14 day return policy. I guess they are trying to get rid of off eBay dealings that are happening. I imagine eventually it will be very difficult for buyers and sellers to directly communicate.

These changes are being phased in over the late spring, summer and early fall.

Not so happy selling!!!

:Furious:

I will stop selling on there soon it's getting a joke The new star system is a joke.
The fees keep
going up and up and I hate all this business where they can take money from your bank account.
As a buyer your protected as a seller your not.

They keep bringing stuff in but I notice some had to be revoked after people quit selling.
Free p&p on books did not go well.

eBay used to be great but now they are alienating people who have been selling for years.

Il use Specialist auctions eventually.

I agree, I sold some stuff last year, posted it all off. Buyer claimed he never received. My advert clearly stated that I will only refund if buyer pays extra for tracking.

Ebay took the money out of my account, I did not authorise it, they said look at T's and C's. I commented that the buyer had the choice to request tracking but chose not to. I got penailised!! Buyer in this scenario only had to give his word he didn't received it, I had a post office receipt with his address on it!

Haven't used it since

Yup I've had the same , proof of postage means nothing.
Even recorded sometimes other people sign.

I got ripped off a few years ago for £100. ... The person vanished.
eBay didn't want to know back then.

Since the new rules have come in I have had more items then ever not paid for or go missing. Uk buyers just not paying.
Overseas claiming no item.
Ok things go missing but it's rare.
I have now blacklisted certain countries.

Also try and claim back from the post office as soon as you say eBay .. What a mare getting a refund.

I also really hate you can no longer leave negative feedback about buyers.
You know ones who don't show up , don't pay , or are bad.

It's unfair your not able to warn others about some real crappy people.

Ebay weren't interested, they would only accept a tracking number as proof of postage.

It was some robot on the other end of the phone, really frustrating.

I sold a small dead bolt the size was in the discription and the buyer wanted to return it as it was to big for what she wanted so she put a NOT AS DESCRIBED dispute but when i checked her feedback she had a history of sending things back so i told ebay that and that the size was in the description and they dropped the dispute luckiley.

I had a guy complaining to me before I'd even posted the item, I couldn't post it as it was New Years day!! anyway I posted it and then I got what I should have expected 'I didn't receive anything' Even though that same day I posted a few other things which were all received the next day :nash:

Another thing which really kills any sort of business on eBay is the 10% commission they take. I for something that I'm selling at the moment, wholesalers give 20% off retail so after fees I'm left with nothing at all.

The only thing eBay is good for is buyers....only just

I do not sell much but I have basic account linked to paypal. One where you can not go on minus. If I need to pay I transfer correct amount and when I withdraw from paypal as soon as it hits it I transfer that out. Backup funding card points to the same account.

If paypal wants to charge me and I do not agree with it they get denial of access :D

Get's their attention.
