Well 2012 and I've not been out on the monsters :(
been out on the rat once but was so scary that was it.

Spent start of year in hospital.
Now this week my vision went in left eye .
Kept saying in hospital my left eye was not right and they fobbed me off :(

my vision is coming back and not a detached retina as feared.
But I am so bored without my bikes!!!
Not being able to drives a pain but no riding!!

I look more like a freak then ever as have a massive square pupil in one eye that is dilated so any light kills you!

Now I know how it feels like to not be able to ride again .

Taking my downtime to try and plan what eventually I shall do to 400.
As it's a keeper... It has dif cans now as the old ones all beaten up.
Rearsets as foothangers where bad.. And one got broken :(

but I have a standard set.
To be honest I prefer my big standard footrests .
I'm not liking the rearsets at all.
I've got another pair of originals now.

I wish I had left it be when it came back from Carl Harrisons as it was perfect.
Now ....

So that's what I'm doing ..
I like the yellow but then do I want it yellow forever.
It won't be mental like hector want it simple.

So that's what's keeping me sane.
I feel for anyone who's had an accident now.
I will be back to normal in a few weeks vision wise phew!

Hope things start to look up Mel. I know personally nothing helps cheer me up more than a little blast on the monster, even if its just down to the shop and back xxx

Thanks Bex ... It's frustrating.. I can't work either .
If I squint through one eye I can see but on a bike that's a BIG no!
I'm lucky that it's treatable and normal service will resume.

How crap is daytime tv? It's sapping my will to live ! :)

Yes its bad, very very bad. On the plus side I do tend to find it only takes 5 minutes of watching that pillock Jeremy Kyle's show to realise that I could've turned out much much worse :chuckle:

Glad it is only a temporary problem. Hope you find a way to keep yourself amused until you are back driving again.

We all tend to take our sight for granted and it is only when something happens that we realise what a marvelous piece of kit the eye is.

Thanks .... I kept thinking its foggy again today...... and wondered why I got an odd look!
Its amazing how it affects you.. I felt like I was looking through a fish eye at first then fog .. you go giddy.
If I cover my bad eye I can see with my good one !!....
Headlights or lightbulb light is a killer...
Turned down phone and screens thats helped.
I don't want this ever again.

I have a biking friend who got a hook caught in one eye in work (ouch) and spent the best part of a year with an eye patch until it recovered. It took him a few days to get used to the eye patch and after that he was biking again like he did before the accident.

He also took to decorating his eye patches with tippex and a flourescent pen :)

Shame that....I've just polished up your new alternator cover plate.
The reflection will probably be painful.

Good that its not a detached retina though.
My mate's had two of those.
Here's to getting out on the monster when those first spring days arrive.

My biking has gone the other way....I've just long-term loaned my car to a mate (at £1k/yr for tax/mot/ins I can do without a full time car) and my runabout dominator is back on the road, so its two wheels only again. It feels a bit like the 1970s.

ps. pm me your address and I'll send the plate. :roger:

I will be out riding as soon as I can .... bloody hope soon as bored to tears.

I am very excited about my alt cover !!! Thank you so much!!!!!
I am hoping to get the ok to drive.

I am watching Kirsty's homemade doodahs ........ it makes me feel even more rubbish!!...

Oh Jerry poor you..
I don't like my eyes being messed with..
I was terrified it was a detatched retina and would need surgery I'd have freaked out!!
Crikey I feel for you.
How long was recovery on that.

I'm lucky no surgery needed just drops to keep my eye dilated ( they hurt!!!) and steroids pains gone just grumpy as vision on left side is foggy and floaters drive me mental!!
I hope your eyes are ok now x

Hope you make a speedy recovery.

Not that it's much consolation, but arguably if you're going to be grounded by the docs at all, better that it's in January when snow is forecast than in June.

I assume that getting a pillion ride on a mate's bike wouldn't scratch the bike itch - I'm not a happy or enthusiastic pillion myself ....

True .... but has been nice and sunny yesterday :)

It could be much much worse as some of you poor souls know .... at least no traction or plaster involved so I am very lucky ..... my minds getting worse though.. cabin fever!

I used to love pillion rides but found once I could ride myself I like to be in control.
Same with driving.
Im very lucky .... it will pass.
Its boredom really and knowing I am going to get ticked off when have a monster arrives at my work and I am not there to move it!! .... oops

I have to zoom on everything to read things..
I had a lot of post today and I can't read it :)

I had to nip out to get milk the street lights and car headlights are a killer so went and brought some comedy hidious sunglasses for £1 to get home again.
This bloke went nice glasses love .... But there's no sun out!!!
Asumed I was mental ... I said I've got a problem with my eyes and he looked at me as if to say hmm yeah right!!
He then said just so you don't look anymore deranged you might want to remove the big sticker off the front :)

cringe :( .. I couldn't even see the sticker.
I'm going to stay in at night for a while now :)
