Is the modified live on again this year?

I am sure it will be, we will have to wait for details from Albie or Alex, as soon as we know we will post up.

According to this Modified Live is at Brands Hatch on 25th & 26th June in 2012

May be worth adding the dates to Kent event calendar pending confirmation by Alex and Albie

Maybe thats so we can all drop by on the way back from WDW!

Can I just throw out the suggestion that a French day trip slots in on APRIL 21st or 22nd........

That's the same weekend as the Prescott Hill Climb. I know its not local for you, but I would join you guys in France if it didn't clash.

Good point mate.. looks like Brands still list the 2011 dates as 2012 on the webpage :fou:

I spoke with Alec at Proteam Ducati today and he's waiting for the organisers to confirm date next week

According to this it might have shifted into July to coincide with our breakfast meet on the 8th... watch this space :)

As Gary has said, the dates will be announced next Wednesday at the Autosport show, I'm on the TA stand there, so if anyone is going, pop by for a nice hot beverage and biscuits.
Hall 7 stand number 7030.

Thanks for your support of Prescott Day Scrapps and Rally. I hope some more of you will ride over
for the day and enjoy some Cotswolds' Hospitality for Duncan's Birthday and have fun watching some
great bikes, vintage and new and Scrapps "Ride the Hill". It'll cost you £12 on the day (or £10 pre booked - but the event is organised by Severn Free Wheelers - a local charity group of motorcycle blood runners - and helps to fund the service they provide to hospitals etc around our area.

So I guessed right then.. it did move to Sunday 8th July  Is it just one day this year? Last year was was a full weekend event Saturday and Sunday

I also note it clashes with a proposed run date on the Wilts/Hamps events list, and a lot of members down that way attended last year.

Yep, just the one day this year, and we'll do our best to make your visit a good one.
One thing that you guys might be interested in is there will be an inter club Its a Knockout, Tug of War etc.....be good to see you lot putting the car clubs to shame. :)

I know there is in Race Control, they only allow the permanently bewildered in there.
I would think you lot would stack up well against the car club types.......

I'm working on it, but there will be a couple of car race series with us this year, so less track time available. We may be able to squeeze in a few laps at lunchtime, but not as many as last year.

just a question of booking the right outbound/return chunnel crossings when J.P posts the times and showing up, then chase him up and down the French coast.

Shuffy
15-05-2012, 10:31 AM
This a really nice little trip and is perfect if you've never been across the water on your bike before. Highly recommended, we always use 'J.P Tours' (just don't forget to buy him some frites at lunchtime though).

But with typical poor organisation on my part I can't make it as I'm away. HHhmmmfffppp.:grump:

J.P
15-05-2012, 10:42 AM
No chasing necessary. :)

Just as an outline it usually follows thus :
Catch a Chunnel from Folkstone around 9am. (Might be too early for you Zak)
A daytrip return for motorbikes on the train is usually about £14 each way, but I've just checked and limited availability makes it a total of £64 for the return journey and that just seems a liitle too much to me for a day trip, on top of petrol and food... Don't know what anyone else thinks...

Shuffy
15-05-2012, 10:46 AM
Maybe we can change the date... Then I can come!

In fairness £64 is a bit lumpy for a day, but it is a really good day out.

J.P
15-05-2012, 11:04 AM
Given the calendar of events, my own and the club's, we start pushing it further & further into the summer. As you know I spend most of my time on holiday so finding a spot is difficult.

slob
15-05-2012, 11:54 AM
Reason it was so cheap before is it was Mar/Apr whic gets off-season prices

J.P
15-05-2012, 01:45 PM
It would still be £14 each way, but they've sold all those cheap day tickets and only have the more expensive 2 day and 5 day ticket prices

alan c
15-05-2012, 07:33 PM
sorry not been on line since i posted, think we need to change to another date, JP please have a look when your not on holiday and let us know :D

Zak

I'd come up the night before and stay locally to the ferry port. I'm very interested in doing this one, sounds like great fun.

Because we park out bikes in the gold plated part of the train on a two day ticket?
Our railways are in a mess because of operator greed, that's about 15x £14 ticket they won't sell because they're holding out for sales that may never come, the first profit is often the best, oh well...

Zak.. you'll need to sort the headlights first

Eurotunnel have a width restriction for bikes - I don't think it'll fit through the door
