WANTED - S4RS in black

HI All,

Having spent my early years watching 888's roar through my village i've finally bitten the bullet and decided to kick my screaming Gixxer 750 into touch. I'm looking for a S4RS in black, must be low mileage & no more than 2 owners, not to fussed if the bike is standard.

I concur with Rollo - I have an S4RS Tricolore, never seen a black one though. Cant imagine I'll ever sell mine, and I've racked up 22k in 3 1/2 years on it! Good choice if you can get the right one - black with gold Ohlins will look mint!

Thank's for the support guys! I can only find 2 for sale in the country at the moment and both of those are pearl white. Both have one owner from new and less than 3,000 miles! £6,700 should I just buy one of these as I can do the paint job foc?

Assuming you are forced to go that route..

I would try to source a spare tank and body panels and re-paint those. IMO the S4Rs would be worth more if/when resold if the original factory finish bodywork is included. Buyers tend to view custom painted bikes with suspicion, as it sometimes hides accident damage and value drops as a result.

I don't think he is GT, but when a wad of cash is flashed in front of his eyes, he might be tempted. He is the only person I know with a black S4Rs.

Hi Guys,

Have already had a look for a tank, and have heard that a lot of second hand ones are deformed, is this the case? I run a bodyshop so if I ever wanted to sell I could return to original or change the log book. These bikes are like bloody hens teeth with the exception of America. Do you guys know of anyone who imports them as they appear on face value to be loads cheaper???

S4Rs' come with a plastic tank and there have been a handful of people with deformed tanks in the UK, but in the States it seems to be a much bigger issue. This is because they use different fuel (or gas) to us. It has a higher ethanol content and the tanks don't like it.
If you import one, you will have to pay the £400 shipping and import duties, so beware!

Girlie at work has a black one, high level akrapoviks, mod ecu and enough CF to satisfy a middling addiction. I keep nagging her to get it out of SORN and running.
Tells me she did some runs with some UKMOC ppl but found the pace a bit slow! Obviously not with some of the people I kow.

Doesn't look looked after at all. I'm sure it's lovely when cleaned up but why advertise a bike like that? Just gives a bad impression.
