Hi all,

I'd like to move my seat lock to tidy up the back of the bike a little, planning on removing the grab rails too and it sticks out quite a bit! :) Have seen it moved to the side of the airbox on Simon's bike but I'm wondering how much trouble that might cause in terms of routing the cable - just wondered if anyone might have put theirs elsewhere?

When i rebuilt my 900, i did away with the cable and just attached a cable tie to where the inner cable nipple normaly located.
I did have a piccie but can't seem to find it, as is the way in these situations sometimes, innit?

That's what I did too - bit of a guilty secret - but it works :)

I tried relocating my seat lock

In hindsight the top drawer of the 'nicknack' cupboard in bathroom didn't work very well

If you want to retain a key operated lock, then all you need is a longer cable and a place to fit the lock.

On a 916 the lock (same system) is under the front side of the seat and has a cable which is about 18" long - as it's a flexible cable it could fit anywhere if it was long enough, although if the cable can be reached then it can be opened by simply pulling on it so you may want to cable tie the cable to the frame where possible.
