What will £3k get me?

Hello chaps,i have not looked on here for a couple of years after selling my 97 m600 and have been without a bike while we moved house etc but i am now in the market for another monster and was wondering what sort of bike £3k (ish) will get me,i would hopefully like something with a bigger engine than a 600 with aftermarket cans on and maybe the odd carbon touch....so is my budget realistic?.

I've got a 2002 Kawasaki ZRX1200R you can buy for less than £3k ;)

It does have a bigger than 600cc engine, but it doesn't have an aftermarket can or any carbon bits on it unfortunately ;(

R1 has Akraprovic end can and carbon fairing infills - bargain could be yours for under £3000

you should get a tidy monster for £3000, have a look at ebay or somewhere, choose the model you would like and then look for a specific bike for that money, good luck!

It might get you a metalic blue with a white stripe 1999 900IE with £1200 change if it's still there of course. A guy called Seumas was selling one in Pollocksheilds, Glasgow on 07803594926.

I sold a nice clean 53 plate s4 with lowish miles,l ots of good bits, new tyres and new belts fitted for less than 3 in the autumn. At the same time another s4 was being advertised nearby for about 2850. It's the first time I have ever had trouble selling a bike, and it looks like people are being much more careful with their money (friends in the trade confirm times tougher than ever). If you have the cash then now really is the time to buy - bargains occur because anyone selling at this time of year is doing so expecting to get a low price.
I got very little interest in the Ducati advertising on various sites, and sold to the only guy who turned up. By contrast, sold a 50cc Aprilia at the same time and was swamped with offers - sold it for more than I paid!

In winter id of thought you could of haggled down a 696 to around £3.5k if you find a early 08 bike and a owner needing to sell. Thats where my money would go personally as its alot of bike for the money and still relatively new.

My S4 is still for sale and would let it go for that price probably a little less and it has carbon Termi's and the power up kit to go with it
