The b**tards were out gritting last night. It wasn't that cold (about 4 degrees) and I'm damn sure it wasn't expected to get below freezing, just a heavy frost. I doubt that the road temperatures were likely to get down to zero.

After stopping off at a friends for dinner on the way back from the NEC Motorcycle Show I headed out on the roads of Sussex at about 11pm and found them covered with grit. I even had the joy of encountering a gritter coming the other way and got a good pelting with grit :Furious:

When I got home I gave the bike a good wash down to get rid of the salt. I guess it's ACF50 time ;)

Don't worry they'll have run out of grit by early December...

Are they ? I haven't seen any yet myself, but I haven't been out and about for a few days.
Bollox.
This winter I've sorned the car and my winter hack Dominator is off the road too, so the monster will be taking the full force of the annual chemical attack.
I hate grit.

I like grit - it does help me get my car out of my drive & down the hill without too much crashing
