Hello chaps,

My front Wheel on my 2000 M600 is damaged and I have found an 1999 M900 wheel for sale. Would this fit?

Many thanks

Check the front spindle size.

If your's uses the larger hollow spindle and the 900's smaller solid one it won't be a straight swap - unless you change wheel bearings as well.

Hi Gary,

Thanks for your reply. Yes mine is the hollow spindle. I would have no problems changing the bearings. Is this a big job? I have access to a work shop with an Oxy-Actelene torch if I need to warm up the wheel to allow the bearing to slide out and a bearing puller. However, would I be better getting my local bike shop doing it for me?

You may not need to if the 900 wheel matches for spindle size

Maybe not but if I had bought a used wheel of origin unknown, I would replace the bearings anyway, it's not as if they're particularly expensive.

Bear in mind also that if the bearings need to be bigger or smaller then you should swap the spacer tube inbetween them for the correct size.

The 25mm bearings are 2mm less in width you will also have to machine another internal spacer also I found the speedo drive to be narrower. It is not as simple as changing bearings. I had the M750 wheel and fitted a 620 front end.

Why not buy a second hand wheel for a M600 and save all the bother.

It would be a far simpler solution... if you can find a suitable 600 wheel
