Hi, my monster has recently started slipping constantly I was informed at the last service that the clutch kit needed replacing but in the interests of (false) economy I decided not to at the time. That decision has now come home to roost. I was just wondering if anyone had any advice on replacing the clutch kit, any pitfalls things to watch out for etc? As I am going to try doing it myself. Any advice would be much appreciated!

piece of cake

i sometimes find a pair of magnates aid in removing the plates and discs

watch out for the dished plate (signified with a notch or a dot)

and put it back together the same way it came apart

Wiggle the pressure plate to make sure it's seated right, before you put the springs back on, it can catch on the posts and you'll find everything goes back together fine but the clutch won't engage.
Be careful not to overtighten the 6 screws that hold the springs down, it's really easy to snap the posts off the drum.
