Hi all,

It's time for new tyres and I need help. I've got a 2001 S4 which currently has Bridgestone 020 front and back, I'm not mad about them and fancy a change. I bought the bike with them on and this is my first change, any advice would be very much appreciated.

Cheers,

Steve.:)

so the first question is, what's your riding style ?

But whatever it is, you basically have two 'sets' to choose from, 'sport-touring' and 'road-touring'

for Sport-touring
Dunlop Sportsmarts
Michelin Pilot Power 2CT

for road-touring
Dunlop Roadsmarts
Michelin Pilot Road 3

I've only ever fitted Diablos to my 2001 S4 and wouldn't rush to change them - but they're probably dated now.

Had diablos last, the front felt a bit slow into corners but nice and stable.
Got to say though I do like the relatively budget maxis LOL and I don't get anything for mentioning them either. They were quite sharp and grippy in real ****e weather last winter.. I classed the -20 morning as deeply brown

I am a fan of 2CTs also

they can be had for £209 a pair now too which is very reasonable imho

I run diablos and a mate with a 749s was suprised how far you can get the front end over, not down to tyre warming slaloms, just good 60 mph back roads on the way to work.

Just fitted these - must say much preferred over the Power Pure I had which wore very strangely

On my S4 I had michelins pilot roads they weree crap, last 2 years have Pirelli Diablo corsa 3s which are very good , but next change will be Dunlop Sportsmarts or Roadsmarts depending on availability in thailand

Thanks for all the feedback, just one more question, any thoughts on the Pirelli Angel ST? The dealer offered me this as another alternative, so I held off on the purchase for a few days.

Cheers,

Steve.

hi Steve

I have a pair on my M750 and am happy with them, had them on for about a year now and just about to change them - will probably go for them again. nice and sticky on the edges for cornering.
