Last year I had my Monster thoroughly cleaned and treated with ACF50 anti-corrosion treatment at an ACF50 sprayfest kindly hosted by Benson, and carried out by www.allyearbiker.co.uk. I was very pleased with the results - despite riding it in the cold and wet, it survived the winter unscathed.

As I'm now commuting on the Monster every day, and know I'm not going to be able to face cleaning it thoroughly every day, I'm going to treat my bike to the ACF50 spray again. As the other half now has a new shiny bike, so is he.

We've decided to host an ACF50 sprayfest at our home in Farnborough on Sunday 20 November.

There will be space for 3 (possibly 4) other bikes to be treated the same day. Cost per bike will be around £60.

Please let me know if you'd like to come along and have your bike treated.

If arrangements are like last year, I expect that All Year Biker will put up a formal booking and paypal payment system through their website, but I'd like to know who to expect. Will post again with official booking info.

Venue is Farnborough (obviously).

I've set it as a private event for now, so if you want to book, pm me first and I'll send you an invitation code which you'll need to enter.

i'm tempted, but it does seem alot for a spray, or is it just me being tight?

I find a centrally heated garage works better!

I'm tempted, will be using my bike all year and don't want it to be a furry monster come the spring... but your 111 miles away....

What time would it start?

Eljaybe,

Would probably start 8-30 or 9ish, to make the most of the daylight, but as my bike and Andy's would be on site anyway, we could go first. If you book and they give you an early slot, let me know and I'll call All Year Biker to swap!

I'm thinking of taking mine to the warrington one either daytime thursday 27th or the afternoon of saturday 5th if anyone slightly less southerly wanted to do a joint booking there :) Just pm me to save taking over the thread, I'll probably try booking it on friday. Looking at it I'm near enough to get them to do a home visit if manchester is any easier, would have to see if the landlord would mind since it's a shared parking area though...

Eljaybe,

Of course you'll be able to come in and defrost, although the microwave is somewhat small . (Nearest I've come to that is sitting on an Aga in the kitchen of a freezing cold hall in Northumberland on a live role playing weekend back in student days ...)

You'll have to make do with the beanbag in front of the gas fire (first evicting the cat) and sufficient hot mugs of tea, coffee or soup to thaw out frozen fingers.

Whether there will be more than cans of soup to eat will depend on how zonked I am, having flown back from India the previous evening.

Now heard back from All Year Biker.

Jon has said he wants 4 bikes at my place by 9 am - Steevooo, please could you be here by 9. I dare say bacon butties could be arranged.

Eljaybe - could you be in Farnborough by 12, please.

I'm actually going to be out of the country from this Friday, not coming back until 20th, so if anyone has any last minute changes of plan, please pm AndyC_772 (my husband). I'm not sure whether and when I'll have net access while I'm away.

I'm curious as to who the 4th bike will be in addition to Andy's, mine, Eljaybe's, Steevoo's and the Multistroodle belonging to a local ducatisti.

Still expecting me at 9am? I can be there for then, but would like an early spray if possible as need to continue dismantling the other bike... Slow progress today.

Hi folks, a bit late i know... but thanks for the sprayfest :) many thanks for the tea to warm me up after the cold ride down. Nice meeting you all too.
I finally got back home about 4:30 after stretching my fuel consumtion past what i thought was possible... well i didn't know there's no blumming service stations on the M25, had to travel about 30 miles up the M1 (Toddington)... my feul warning light has never had so much work to do...

Thanks again

Just found some pics on my camera. The "before" shot is a little blurred, but you can see it wasn't particularly clean. The after shots are superb! I was really chuffed with how thorough the cleaning was. I'm sure next time it will be even better as although I clean it myself quite regular, I admit it's not to the level of detail some do...

Bear in mind it was a crappy day too, damp and a bit greasy.

A couple of shots of the other bikes in attendance too
