I have been thinking that maybe a Black Crinkle, Wrinkle, Crackle or whatever you want to call it finish on my crankcase covers might be quite nice, still undecided though.
Any thoughts, opinions would be mucho appreciated.:)

I've seen a number of h*rleys with black wrinkle finish on the engines, personally I think it looks great, what you think of it is what's important.

yes, very harley. I love it.

You can get it powdercoated in "crackle black" for the same finish.

PJ coatings so an aerosol pain that creates the same effect, but it's hard to use, you need a lot of heat to get it to wrinkle up.

Have seen it on early single ducatis very nice but all that matters is what you think

Would have thought it aids cooling

The effect can also achieved using cling film when the paint is still wet.

I didn't know that crinkle PJ1 required heat to wrinkle up, I shall bear that in mind.
Thanks for the info.
