anyone know what springs are installed in the Showa forks from 998 s4r (2007-2008)

Should be fine Ali, the extra weight of the water-cooled motor is offset by the difference between you and the 9st Italian test rider :-D

thanks bialbero, are you sure about that figure? do you know if the spings are progressive rate?

not sure though as s2r 800 is quoted as 173.6 kg dry and s4r testastretta is 178kg (much lighter than the 996 at 193) so springs might still be too soft for big a lump like me.

the springs are linear.

I run 1.1kg/mm springs in the front and a 12kg/mm spring in the back

that's at a weight of 15stone with kit

A 996 S4R is over 200kg out of the showroom
