Looking for a front paddock stand and just wanted to check with those in the know that this type (not neccesarily this one) will do for m900 / 900ss. The choke cable is routed through the steering head on my m900 - can I still use one of these or do I have to pull the cable out each time?

That's perfect. The biggest headstock pin will be really loose but its not a problem. Regularly use that exact model on Mand's 620.

Sound like you may have to reroute the cable G, or buy the one I got last week at Popham.

I don't think the injected 900ie has this problem.. at least I never notice the choke/fast idle lever cable routed that way. I'll check the trike tonight when I get home. I've recently bought that style of front stand for the Buell, and need to check it's ok for monster as well. Hmmph.. watch this space :look:

Gordon, The same people do another front one that goes under the bottom of the fork legs as well. I have one and it works well for most things, unless you want to drop the forks out. I have a home made one for that. I'm always happy to lend it out to anyone who collects and brings it back when finished with it.

I can't help but cringe whenever I see someone using the prongs-under-fork ones. They look like they're going to slip off!

Couldn't agree more in fact the S4 did once. I use the under fork pin that locates in the bottom of the leg, they are very good.

Hi gordon

i have a spare one (think its made by FG in italy a DP supplier) that will fit under the forks of the adjustable showas. the lugs go into the holes at the bottom of each fork. i will measure it and let you know the sizes if your interested

Hi Gordon
I bought a head lift stand last week for my m900 and the 18mm fits perfect. I'm not sure about your choke though mine is on the left under the tank and not routed up to the bars through the steering head. I took the front mud gaurd off mine before using the stand because it looks abit close and very likely to scratch it.

Right.. I checked both my M900ie's and neither have fast idle cable routed through the headstock stem. It's routed from lever on R/H bar down side of headstock and under tank. I'm sure my 1995 M600 had it's choke cable routed through headstock like Gordon's 900 though.
